Park View Island Sustainable Association

Miami Beach's first Neighborhood Association in North Beach, founded to address resident concerns, neighborhood issues, to ensure a more sustainable and resilient future for current and future residents.

Park View Island is located in the heart of North Beach, just one block away from 72nd St Town Center, we're located on 73rd Street, off Dickens Avenue, across from the North Shore Park and Youth Center.

After moving to North Beach from South Beach in 2016, I quickly began to see some serious deficiencies in our neighborhood. Our community needed many upgrades, suffered regular sewer overflows among many other issues. By the end of 2019 I had already been attending regular community meetings and had acquainted myself well with North Beach. at the time, Park View had no representation at City Hall and no island HOA. That is when I decided to launch the Park View Island Sustainable Association. In 2020, we had a sewer main break on 72nd St. that emptied over 1.5 million gallons of raw sewerage into the Park View Canal.
We immediately jumped into action, holding our first Community Cleanup in March 2020, shortly after the City of Miami Beach enacted a "No Contact with Water Advisory for the Park View Canal", this water surrounds our entire community. This was one of the main reasons why I had moved to a waterfront home in North Beach.
Since then, our Association has grown from strength to strength, we have brought millions in community benefits directly to Park View Island.
Our movement has touched every corner of our City. We have spoken at many commission meetings, worked directly with 2 different City Administrations to date to improve quality of life in our community.
In 2024, I presented as a speaker at the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit - "Grassroots Advocacy How a Neighborhood Association is paving a more Sustainable Future in North Beach".
The Park View Island Sustainable Association hosted the North Beach International Coastal Cleanup Day for the 3rd year consecutively in North Beach, receiving the Ocean Conservancy "Award for Engagement" during the 2024 ICC.
I was honored to by nominated by the Miami Beach City Commission and appointed to the "North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board", where I am currently serving the greater North Beach Community as a resident first candidate.
